CHARTERS GENERAL INFORMATION
Explore the stunning San Blas islands. Each day you’ll visit a different group of islands, weather permitting. Our experienced crew will show you the best snorkeling spots and may even organize a BBQ or bonfire on one of the islands.
Get ready to experience paradise! Whether you prefer relaxing in a hammock with a good book, exploring the diverse islands, or partying it up; your time in the islands is yours to enjoy! You can play volleyball, football, snorkel in crystal-clear waters, Paddle board or Kayak around the islands (check availability). You’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Kuna culture, purchase local artisan souvenirs, and participate in island cleanup activities, if you feel like giving back to this wonderful place.
TRANSPORTS & TAXES
As there is only one road to San Blas and the jeeps that drive it are required to have a special license, we will organize your round trip transportation between from your hostel in Panama City and the boat. It consists of a jeep and a speedboat.
The journey takes around 4 hours each way, and costs about $120 USD per person round trip. Every passenger will also need 20 USD for the tax to enter the Guna Yala territory. These expenses are not included in the price of the trip.
FOOD
The crew will provide a variety of dishes, including fresh seafood when it is available. At certain times of year fishing is illegal because of breeding seasons for lobster and fish. The captain should not purchase lobsters if they are undersized and may refuse to buy them even if available, please support this decision.
The crew will do their best to accommodate passengers who are vegetarian/pescatarian, vegan or gluten free, but we will need to be informed of any special dietary needs in advance. There is a surcharge for Gluten free and Vegan meal plans.
If you have a genuine allergy to any specific foods or something in the environment, you should inform us in advance and take any appropriate measures. Please make sure you bring any emergency medication and that somebody is aware of how to administer it should the need arise. It is simply not possible to prepare separate meals for those who have a dislike of certain foods, so you will need to be flexible and you can pick out ingredients you do not like.
CREW
Many of the captains are local sailors while others are foreigners who have relocated here. There will always be an English-speaking crewmember on board. It is extremely important to communicate with your crew if you have any concerns or questions during the trip. Passenger support and positivity go a long way. If everyone works together as a team, the trips will be much more enjoyable for everyone. Tips are always appreciated!
