Itinerary 3 nights San Blas island Hopping Tour

Please note that this itinerary serves as a general guide. Daily activities and timings may differ between boats, and the itineraries provided are flexible to accommodate your captain’s preferences. Additionally, as is common with any great sailing adventures, schedules are subject to adjustment based on weather and sea conditions.

Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
Day 4
Day 1: Let’s go to San Blas Islands!
We will organize the shared 4x4 Jeep to take you from your hotel or hostel in Panama City to the coast where a speedboat will be waiting to take you to your sailboat in San Blas. Once onboard, the captain will welcome you with a light breakfast and give you the boat briefing as you get to know your home for the next five days. Then, you will be ready to start exploring paradise! Anything is possible! Play volleyball, football, and enjoy a coco loco at the island bar. At night, lie out on deck and watch the stars while sharing stories with new friends.
Day 2: Wake up in a wonderland!
While having breakfast on board, weigh anchor and sail to the next set of islands. You have arrived at the central cay! Each boat is different, so on each trip, the crew will tell you the plan for the day. Snorkel, explore, take a dip in the turquoise waters, or simply relax in the sand. You will spend the day enjoying paradise. At night relax or party it up at a bonfire with music on the island.
Day 3: Another day, another island!
Today is a perfect day to buy artisan souvenirs for all of your friends back home. Paddleboard or Kayak around the islands, and visit the Gunas; the possibilities are endless! In the evening enjoy a barbecue or traditional food prepared by the Kuna community.
Day 4: Say goodbye to San Blas!
Parting is such sweet sorrow, but you will have so many amazing memories to soften the blow! Today you will wake up early and have a light breakfast onboard while waiting for the speedboat to take you to the mainland. The captain will organize a shared 4x4 Jeep to transport you to your hotel or hostel in Panama City. You will most likely arrive around midday (please note this is not included in the price of the trip).

FAQ Budget Friendly Shared Charter

What is the difference between Budget-Friendly and All-Inclusive Shared Charters?

Budget-friendly shared charters cost $495 to $650 USD per person for 3 nights, while all-inclusive shared charters range from $230 to $350 USD per night per person.
Budget-friendly charters include 3 meals a day, water, coffee, tea, and snorkeling gear.
All-inclusive charters add delicious snacks and a variety of drinks (juices, sodas, beer, wine, sunset cocktails with tapas, and rum cocktails in moderation).

Meals are more gourmet than on the budget trips. Budget-friendly tours have a set itinerary and attract younger backpacker-style guests. All-inclusive charters are more luxurious, with custom itineraries, more amenities, and visits to more secluded areas.

What is included in the price?
The price of a budget-friendly shared charter includes your accommodation onboard, 3
meals a day, water, coffee, tea, and snorkeling equipment. It also includes a dinghy as well as other equipment like paddle boards or kayaks, depending on the boat.
Do you arrange the transportation?
Yes, as there is only one road to San Blas and the jeeps that drive it are required to have
a special license, we will organize your transport for you. It will pick you up at your hotel/hostel in Panama City and take you to the coast and a water taxi will then take you from there to the boat. It takes about 4 hours each way and costs between $110 and $120 USD in total per person for the round trip.
What kind of sleeping arrangements are there?

We have catamarans and monohulls with double and single beds. In case of more solo
passengers than groups of two, some passengers may share double beds.

Can I buy drinks and snacks on the islands?

It is possible to buy beer and rum on some of the islands, but it’s not guaranteed, and
snacks are even harder to find. It is better to buy your drinks and snacks beforehand in Panama City and bring them to the boat.

Do I need vaccines?

No! Vaccines are not required to go to San Blas.

Can I bring my large luggage?

Ideally, you should leave your large bag in Panama City. It is much easier for the transport if you only bring what you need for the trip. If leaving your extra luggage behind is not an option, you can bring all of your luggage to the boat, but you need to let us know in advance.

How much money should I bring?
You will need between $110 and $120 USD per person for the transportation costs and
$20 USD per person for the entrance tax. We also recommend bringing extra cash for souvenirs, drinks on the islands, and for tipping crew.

The mola prices range from $15 – $70 depending on the size and detail. There are also
bracelets from $5 to $10. Please do not help yourself to coconuts on the islands (strict rule of
Guna Yala), you will have opportunities to buy coconuts from Guna families for $1 or $2, and
coco-locos (coconut spiked with a shot of rum) for a few more dollars.

Do the chefs cater to special diets?
Yes, chefs can cater to vegans, vegetarians, and any other special requests as long as
they are informed in advance. Other than plenty of seafood and coconuts, shopping is very limited on the islands. There is a $25 fee for all special diets, $10 to purchase the ingredients, and $15 to the cook for the extra effort.
Can we charge our electronics?
Yes, you will be able to charge your phones and small electronics on the boat.
