Itinerary 3 nights San Blas island Hopping Tour

Please note that this itinerary serves as a general guide. Daily activities and timings may differ between boats, and the itineraries provided are flexible to accommodate both your preferences as well as your captain’s. Additionally, as is common with any great sailing adventures, schedules are subject to adjustment based on weather and sea conditions. Keep in mind that local seafood depends on availability and seasonality as well.

Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
Day 4
Day 1 - Dog Island, Salardup
Your San Blas adventure begins at Dog Island, a must-visit spot known for its famous sunken shipwreck—perfect for snorkeling among colorful fish. After your underwater exploration, enjoy a fresh seafood lunch prepared by the onboard chef. Following lunch, you'll sail to Salardup, an ideal place to explore with a kayak or paddleboard. As the sun sets the crew will set up a beachside dinner under the palm trees.
Day 2 - Gorgidup, Nugnudup
After a delicious breakfast on deck, you'll head to the iconic Gorgidup Island, made famous by its appearance in the Netflix series Money Heist. Spend the morning on white sand beaches and in the crystal-clear turquoise waters. After lunch, sail to Benedup, the perfect spot for a beachside BBQ, complete with freshly prepared coconut rice. Benedup also boasts one of the best snorkeling spots in the area.
Day 3 - Chichime
On the third day, you'll sail to Chichime, known for its laid-back vibe and authentic Guna culture. Four local families live on the island in different corners, offering you a unique opportunity to observe the Kuna lifestyle and their deep connection to nature. Spend your day snorkeling, swimming in crystal-clear waters, kayaking, paddleboarding, or simply walking around the island and taking in the views. Enjoy one last dinner on the deck of your boat. Weather permitting, Chichime is also one of the best spots for a bonfire get-together, the perfect conclusion to your sailing adventure.
Day 4: Say goodbye to San Blas
Parting is such sweet sorrow, but you will have so many amazing memories to soften the blow! Today you will wake up early and have a light breakfast onboard while waiting for the speedboat to take you to the mainland. The captain will organize a shared 4×4 Jeep to transport you to your hotel or hostel in Panama City. You will most likely arrive around midday (please note this is not included in the price of the trip).

FAQ All Inclusive Shared Charter

What is the difference between Budget-Friendly and All-Inclusive Shared Charters?

Budget-friendly shared charters cost $495 to $650 USD per person for 3 nights, while all-inclusive shared charters range from $275 to $300 USD per night per person. Budget-friendly charters include 3 meals a day, water, coffee, tea, and snorkeling gear.

All-inclusive charters add delicious snacks, and a variety of drinks (juices, sodas, beer, wine, sunset cocktails with tapas, and rum cocktails in moderation). Meals tend to be more gourmet than on the budget trips. Budget-friendly tours have a set itinerary and attract younger backpacker-style guests. All-inclusive charters are more luxurious, with custom itineraries, more amenities, and visits to more secluded areas.

What is included in the price?
All-inclusive shared charters include a professional captain and dedicated crew, three meals a day and delicious snacks prepared with your preferences in mind, water, coffee, tea, juices, and a selection of alcoholic beverages or sodas are provided, as specified in the information for each boat. A dinghy with an outboard engine is available for beach trips, island exploration, snorkeling adventures, and easy transportation between the boat and local attractions. Snorkeling and fishing gear are also included as well as other amenities like SUPs or kayaks depending on the boat.
Do you arrange the transportation?

Yes we will organize the transport for you. There are two ways to get to San Blas. The first is to take a car to the coast and a water taxi from there to the boat. We will organize this for you. It takes about 4 hours each way and costs about $110 USD in total per person for the round trip. The other option is to rent a small plane. We can help arrange a private plane for 3,5,6,8, or 9 passengers. This option costs between $500 to $1,900. The flight will depart from Albrook Airport in Panama City and will arrive in San Blas and is roughly 40 minutes.

How many islands are we going to see?

The islands in San Blas tend to be in groups of 3 to over a dozen islands, partly surrounded by a reef. You will sail from one group to another every day, and explore a few islands within the group each day.

What is the sleeping arrangement?

All-inclusive shared boats tend to be catamarans with double private cabins for 2 passengers. Most have 4 double cabins total on the boat, of which 1 is reserved for the captain and crew. The other 3 double cabins are rented.

How many people will be on the boat?

There will be 2 to 8 passengers plus captain and crew. This can vary depending on the boat.

If the boat is not full, will the trip be canceled?

No! With all-inclusive charters it doesn’t matter how many passengers are booked. Even if you are the only passengers booked, the trip will go on! If this occurs you would essentially get a private charter.

Do the chefs cater to special diets?

Yes, chefs can cater to vegans, vegetarians, and any other special requests as long as they are informed in advance. Other than plenty of seafood and coconuts, shopping is very limited in the islands.

What should I pack?

Three days of light clothing, a flashlight if you have one, bathing suit(s), SPF Sunscreen (if possible, reef-safe), bug repellent, camera and charger (No drones!! Their use is prohibited, you can have them onboard but you cannot use them), all electronics (you will be able to charge small electronics on the boat during the day), reading material, beach towel.

Can we charge our electronics?
Yes, all of the boats include a charging station and some boats even offer them by your bedside.
