Day 1 - Dog Island, Salardup
Your San Blas adventure begins at Dog Island, a must-visit spot known for its famous sunken shipwreck—perfect for snorkeling among colorful fish. After your underwater exploration, enjoy a fresh seafood lunch prepared by the onboard chef. Following lunch, you'll sail to Salardup, an ideal place to explore with a kayak or paddleboard. As the sun sets the crew will set up a beachside dinner under the palm trees.
Day 2 - Gorgidup, Nugnudup
After a delicious breakfast on deck, you'll head to the iconic Gorgidup Island, made famous by its appearance in the Netflix series Money Heist. Spend the morning on white sand beaches and in the crystal-clear turquoise waters. After lunch, sail to Benedup, the perfect spot for a beachside BBQ, complete with freshly prepared coconut rice. Benedup also boasts one of the best snorkeling spots in the area.
Day 3 - Chichime
On the third day, you'll sail to Chichime, known for its laid-back vibe and authentic Guna culture. Four local families live on the island in different corners, offering you a unique opportunity to observe the Kuna lifestyle and their deep connection to nature. Spend your day snorkeling, swimming in crystal-clear waters, kayaking, paddleboarding, or simply walking around the island and taking in the views. Enjoy one last dinner on the deck of your boat. Weather permitting, Chichime is also one of the best spots for a bonfire get-together, the perfect conclusion to your sailing adventure.
Day 4: Say goodbye to San Blas
Parting is such sweet sorrow, but you will have so many amazing memories to soften the blow! Today you will wake up early and have a light breakfast onboard while waiting for the speedboat to take you to the mainland. The captain will organize a shared 4×4 Jeep to transport you to your hotel or hostel in Panama City. You will most likely arrive around midday (please note this is not included in the price of the trip).

Day 5
Day 1 – Coco Banderos

Your trip starts with an exciting flight over the San Blas Islands, giving you amazing views before landing on Corazon Island. Your captain meets you at the airstrip and takes you to the boat, where the crew welcomes you with drinks and snacks.

Once settled, sail to the beautiful Coco Bandero Cays. Anchor in the clear, calm waters. Local fishermen may stop by with the day's fresh catch, and your crew prepares a delicious seafood lunch featuring lobster, fish, or crabs.

In the afternoon, gear up for snorkeling in the warm waters where nurse sharks swim around the reefs. The spot is perfect for spotting colorful marine life.

In the evening, enjoy a bonfire on the beach. Relax with a rum cocktail under the stars as the gentle sound of waves sets a peaceful tone for your first night in San Blas.

Day 2 – Cayos Holandeses, BBQ Island

Wake up to fresh coffee and a quick dip in the ocean before breakfast. Then, set sail for Cayos Holandeses, some of the most remote and beautiful islands in the area. As you sail, keep an eye out for dolphins swimming alongside the boat.

In the afternoon, the crew sets up a beach spot for you on BBQ Island, where you enjoy grilled fish and lobster. For those with different preferences, the menu can be adapted for vegetarian, vegan, or meat dishes.

Spend the afternoon walking along the quiet beaches or simply relaxing in this remote paradise. At sunset, head back to the boat for a cocktail on deck, watching the sky change colors to end the day.

Day 3 – Cambombia

Start your day with a swim, coffee, and breakfast before sailing to Cambombia. Known for its white sandy beach and vibrant coral reefs, Cambombia has the calmest waters, perfect for snorkeling.

On the beach, enjoy activities like beach volleyball or paddleboarding. If you prefer to relax, stretch out on a hammock with a cold "coco loco" in hand.

Savor a beachside dinner of fresh lobster as the sun sets, creating a beautiful end to a perfect day.

Day 4 – Waisaladup

On the final day of your sailing tour, you’ll anchor near Waisaladup, a small tropical island. Spend the day in hammocks under the palm trees, or take one last snorkeling trip in the shallow waters.

As the sun sets, enjoy a sundowner with your fellow travelers and reflect on the trip. After a final dinner onboard, spend your last night under a star-filled sky.

Day 5 – Back to Panama City

On the last morning, enjoy breakfast on deck as the boat returns to Corazon Island. From there, you’ll catch your flight back to Panama City, marking the end of your San Blas adventure.

FAQ Private Charter

Why book a private charter?
Booking a private sailboat charter in the San Blas Islands offers an exclusive, personalized experience where you can explore remote islands, enjoy crystal-clear waters, and relax on secluded beaches at your own pace. You can choose your activities with a customized itinerary, from snorkeling and fishing to visiting local Guna Yala villages. How does pricing work in Private Charters?
Private charters offer a flexible pricing structure that becomes more affordable with larger groups. A medium-sized catamaran costs 600$ per day, plus 150$ per person, allowing couples to enjoy a private tropical getaway for just 450$ per person per day. It gets even better for groups! Six friends can book for just 250$ per person per day, thanks to a pricing model that rewards larger groups. Larger catamarans, accommodating 8 to 10 guests, follow a similar structure, making these charters an excellent value for bigger parties.
What type of traveler is best suited for Private vs. Shared Charters?
Our Private Charters are ideal for groups of friends or families, who prefer a personalized private experience. For solo travelers, couples, or groups looking to meet new people from around the world, a Shared Charter offers an affordable, social
experience. You can coordinate with us to choose a boat that fits your preferences, whether you’re seeking a laid-back vibe or something more social and adventurous.
How do we get to San Blas?
There are two ways to get to San Blas. The first is to take a car to the coast and a water taxi from there to the boat. We will organize this for you. It takes about 4 hours each way and costs between $110 and $120 USD in total per person for the round trip. The other option is to rent a small plane. We can help arrange a private plane for 3,5,6,8, or 9
passengers. This option costs between $500 to $1,900. The flight will depart from Albrook Airport in Panama City and arrive in San Blas roughly 40 minutes later. Private shuttles are also available, please ask us upon booking if you would prefer this option.
How do we pay for the charter?
There is a 15% nonrefundable deposit to confirm the booking. As for the remaining balance, the preferred method is in cash onboard to the captain. Some boats allow payments via PayPal, Wise transfer, or bank transfer (the option depends on the
captain). If paying electronically, the balance must be paid no later than 14 days before the charter start date.
What is the refund policy?
If you have an unforeseen emergency and would like to reschedule your trip, we can transfer your deposit to the new reservation (as long as you confirm the change more than 2 weeks before the start date). Your deposit will be valid for one calendar year from the originally scheduled date. If you have to cancel or reschedule within two weeks of the trip date, your deposit will be lost and you will need to pay a new deposit in order to confirm the new reservation. Many boats ask that you pay the balance of the trip at least 2 weeks before the departure date. If it is within the last two weeks and you have paid the full amount and have to cancel, you will receive a 50% refund. If it is within 72 hours of the departure date, there is no refund.
How many days do you recommend?
We recommend a minimum of 3 nights so that you have time to see the best spots with the most stunning scenery. If you would like to get the full experience and include a visit to the more populated islands and observe the unique Guna culture, we recommend a 4 or 5-night sailing tour.
Do you recommend this trip for families with children?
Absolutely! We highly recommend this trip for families with children. The calm, shallow waters and pristine beaches provide a safe environment for kids to swim, snorkel, and discover vibrant marine life up close. Additionally, the trip offers educational value, as children will have the chance to meet Guna families, learn about their unique culture, and explore local villages. For families seeking both adventure and quality time together, this is the perfect way to disconnect from everyday life and reconnect in one of the world’s most stunning natural environments.
What are the additional costs?
Additional costs are the transportation from Panama City to San Blas and back, the Guna Yala entry fee of $20, gratuity, and personal insurance.
What is the weather like?
The San Blas Islands experience warm, tropical weather year-round, with temperatures ranging from 30°C to 32°C (86°F to 90°F). The dry season is from January to April, and there can be some showers from June to August but October and November tend to see the most rainfall. It is important to mention that even during the rainy season, showers
are usually brief and followed by sunshine, making it ideal for sailing year round.
When is the best time to visit?
San Blas is a year-round destination, with calm seas protected by the natural coral reef surrounding the islands. Even during the windy season when there are waves in the open ocean, the reef acts as a barrier, keeping the waters inside the archipelago calm. This makes sailing, snorkeling, and other water activities comfortable in almost any weather. While the rainy season brings showers, they are usually brief and followed by sunshine, and the seas remain calm due to the reef’s protection. This balance of calm waters and tropical weather makes San Blas an ideal destination, regardless of the season.
What activities will be available?
You can pack your time in San Blas with incredible activities both on and off the water, or you can also relax and sunbathe with a good book. You will sail to new locations every day, island-hopping and exploring pristine beaches and breathtaking islands. Dive into the crystal-clear waters, snorkel among vibrant marine life, or try kayaking or paddle boarding around the picturesque islands. You’ll also have opportunities to explore the rich culture of the Guna people by visiting their families and learning about their unique lifestyle, followed by beach BBQs cooked over a coconut husk fire. Finally, as the sun sets, gather around a beach bonfire, relaxing with the spectacular views of the islands, or even join in on a bonfire party with fellow sailors to name a few.
Do the chefs cater to special diets?
