Additionally, as in common with any fantastic sailing expedition, schedules are subject to adjustment based on weather and sea conditions.

Day 3

Day 4

Day 1 – Let’s go to San Blas Islands!

We will organize the shared 4×4 Jeep to take you from your hotel or hostel in Panama City to the coast where a speedboat will be waiting to take you to your sailboat in San Blas. Once onboard, the captain will welcome you with a light breakfast, give you the boat briefing as you get to know your home for the next five days, and then you are ready to start exploring paradise! Anything is possible! Play volleyball, football, and enjoy a coco loco at the island bar. At night, lie out on deck and watch the stars while sharing stories with new friends.

Day 2 – Wake up in a wonderland!

While having breakfast on board, weigh anchor and sail to the next set of islands. You have arrived at the central cay! Each boat is different, so on each trip, the crew will tell you the plan for the day. Snorkel, explore, take a dip in the turquoise waters, or simply relax in the sand. You will spend the day enjoying paradise. At night relax or party it up at a bonfire with music on the island.

Day 3 – Another day, another island!

Today is a perfect day to buy artisan souvenirs for all of your friends back home. Paddle board or Kayak around the islands, visit the Gunas; the possibilities are endless! Each boat is different, so on each trip, the crew will tell you the plan for the day. In the evening enjoy a barbecue or traditional food prepared by the Kuna community.

Day 4 – Say goodbye to San Blas!

Parting is such sweet sorrow, but you will have so many amazing memories to soften the blow! Today you will wake up early and have a light breakfast onboard while waiting for the speedboat to take you to the mainland. The captain will organize a shared 4×4 Jeep to transport you to your hotel or hostel in Panama City. You will most likely arrive around midday (please note this is not included in the price of the trip).

FAQ 3-nights sailing trip

FAQ 3-nights sailing trip

Will we get to sail?

The windy season runs from mid-December to April, where strong winds are common, usually making it a great time to set sail! Outside of windy season, especially during June, July, and August, winds can get quite quiet which can make it difficult to sail.

It is important for captains to sail on schedule, which means there are times where they are forced to rely on the motor when the winds aren’t complying in order to do so. While the captains prefer sailing, safety and comfort are our top priorities for both the passengers and the boat. If sailing is important to you, we recommend booking a smaller fiberglass monohull.

What will the weather be like?

It depends on the time of year! May to November tends to be the calmest time of year to sail between Panama and Colombia. You might intermittently get brief rain showers, but it usually clears up within a couple of hours or so. December through April is a windy season which usually provides excellent conditions for a sailing adventure! The tropical climate of the Carribean San Blas makes it an excellent place to travel year round!

What is there to do in the islands?

Anything is possible! Explore paradise, play volleyball, soccer, snorkel, kayak, take a dip in the turquoise water, meet the locals, buy souvenirs, relax or party it up at a bonfire with music on the islands. The possibilities are endless!

Can I bring alcohol & Snacks?

Yes! Three meals a day, water, coffee, & tea are all included in the price of the trip, but we always encourage passengers to bring their own snacks, beverages, and alcohol as well. Coolers will be provided for you to store and chill any beverages you bring.

Do the boats cater to special diets?

All of the boats can accommodate vegan, gluten free, pescatarian, and vegetarian diets. There is a 25 usd fee to accommodate all special diets (15 usd to the chef for the added effort and 10 usd to the boat to buy ingredients).

It is important to advise us of any allergies or dietary restrictions when finalizing your booking, failure to do so will make it difficult for the crew to accommodate your diet. Please note, you cannot change your diet once the tour has begun.

Do I need a visa or yellow fever certificate?

You may need a visa depending on the country of origin of your passport. We recommend asking your embassy if you are unsure. The yellow fever vaccine is only required upon arrival to Panama or Colombia if you have been to Brazil in the past six months.

Can I take a surfboard or bicycle?

All our boats can accept surfboards and bicycles, but they do charge a fee to bring them onboard. There may also be additional costs to transport them to and from Panama City.

Can I travel with my pet?

It depends on the boat! Only boats that arrive to or depart from Puerto Lindo, Panama can take pets. If you are interested in taking your pet with you, let us know beforehand and we can ask the captain!

What do you wear in San Blas Islands

Pack light! You are headed to the beautiful Caribbean islands of San Blas; so bring comfortable light clothing good for the beach and don’t forget your bathing suit!
