We cannot speak highly enough of our Blue Sailing trip aboard Sophia, from Panamá to Cartagena. We felt extremely well looked after by Andre, Robi, Mathilde and of course the boat dog Arya. Straight away we felt incredibly welcome on the boat, the crew were knowledgeable and professional which helped to make everyone feel at ease. This was particularly reassuring for the open sea crossing which was initially daunting for some, but ended up being so much better than expected thanks to the help and advice of the crew.

The food was fresh and delicious and there was plenty of it (honourable mention to Andre’s special Sancocho)!

On the boat everyone is living in close quarters with limited privacy, however we were blessed with an amazing group of people (including solos, pairs of friends and couples) that felt like family.

The San Blas islands are absolutely beautiful, we enjoyed incredible starry nights, sunrises and sunsets, BBQs and parties on the beach, snorkelling, swimming with nurse sharks and seeing dolphins jump alongside the boat.

We also appreciated that the Kuna people who inhabit the islands are very accommodating to tourists and our captain Andre has a good relationship with them, giving back to the community where he can.

Overall this was such a positive and unforgettable experience, thank you so much to everyone involved it was fantastic ️

I had the most amazing 5-6 days travelling through the San Blas Islands from Panama to Colombia on Sophia boat with Captain Andres and his beautiful dog, Arya. We were warmly welcomed and well fed every day. We visited many stunning islands, snorkelled with lemon sharks, played volleyball, partied at karaoke night, sailed alongside dolphins and slept under the stars. Everyone got on really well and we became a small, close knit family very quickly. I was recovering from an injury I picked up a couple of weeks before, Andre was very accommodating and helpful. I loved living barefoot and getting a glimpse of what life is like for these remote islands. Felt very blessed every day. This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever done. I can’t recommend it enough!

Such an amazing experience! We sailed on Sophia boat from Panama to Colombia and the trip couldn’t have been more perfect. Both our captain, André, and co-captain, Ivan, were the most genuine people, took care of everything and always assured that everyone was having a great time. André really made our trip so special – he was always ready to show us around the islands, teach us about the local Kuna community, organize activities and just have a good chat with all of us. Also, we had the most lovely and well behaved dog, Arya, on board which was a huge bonus. The whole crew was truly the best!!

The San Blas islands were like out of a postcard, nothing I have ever seen before. Open sea crossing went very smoothly for us too – mostly just lying down on the deck reading a book, but it went by fairly quick and wasn’t terrible at all. Being 14 people on a sailing boat was sometimes a bit of a squeeze when everyone was inside, but we had such a nice group on board and no one really minded sharing space with each other. 🙂

The biggest positive surprise was the food for sure! We didn’t have a separate chef on board so I don’t even know how André and Ivan managed to prepare such good meals every time with working on other tasks at the same time. Fresh fruits every day, fish caught by André and so many other good meals!

The Blue sailing team was also super helpful and always answered within minutes via WhatsApp and email!
