Sailing on Koala X was an unforgettable experience! Exploring the San Blas Islands was a dream come true, and we couldn’t have asked for a better adventure. We had an amazing time connecting with fellow travelers, sharing stories, and soaking in the breathtaking scenery.
A huge shoutout to our incredible crew—Marta, Veronica, and Edwin—who made the journey even more special. They kept us well-fed with delicious meals and ensured our safety, especially during the open ocean crossing. Be aware that the waves can be intense at times, but the experience is absolutely worth it.
Unforgettable trip. One of a kind. Felt super safe despite the sea being so rough. Martha, Veronica and Edwin were super easy to get along with. Lots of laughter. The scenery was amazing. The islands were beautiful. Such an eye opener seeing the way of life at San Blas. However, the best part of the trip for me was the FOOD. 100000% the food. Freshly made, was always woken up by Martha (I liked to sleep a lot as I was super relaxed) so and made sure I never missed a meal! The food was always different, top tier. Veronica is also pleasant to be around, super chilled, funny and kind! Would recommend this trip to anyone. The open sea was challenging however with the crew and the other passengers, it was made easier. San Blas is truly beautiful. We had a group of 12 on a smaller boat, this was preferred as it was a nicer vibe. The name of our boat was Koala X. Would 100% recommend.
Wow wow wow-this was the highlight of a 2 month trip around colombia and costa rica! We started in panama, got picked up at 5 am and made a journey by Jeep to the dock where we were picked up by a passenger boat and met all of the Koala X passengers we would travel with (koala x was the name of the boat). We were brought to the boat where we met the AMAZING crew Edwin, Veronica and the unforgettable Marta! They kept us fed, entertained and safe over the next 4 days. We had 2 days of island hopping-visiting some native kuna people and their children. We had a bonfire, beach volleyball and karaoke.they gave us snorkels if we wanted aswell or for people who weren’t strong swimmers they were always on hand to go to and from the boat to the island. The 40 hours of open sea to cartagena felt scary at times but the crew were amazing and kept control of every situation that arose. They provided delicious meals that were presented beautifully. Even with the rough waters I still had an amazing time (and this is speaking as someone who is not a very strong swimmer) would definitely recommend – 10/10 experience! ️
