We had an incredible time sailing the San Blas Islands on Joey the catamaran. The trip was a real highlight of our time in South America. The food on the boat was top notch, cooked by the italian, Maddy. From restaurant quality pancakes to freshest lobster and barbecues. We also had an opportunity to help Maddy with the cooking which was a lot of fun and a good boat bonding experience. Paulina was an incredible captain along side skipper Julian. They made us feel safe and relaxed while at sea. It was an expensive trip but truly an experience of a lifetime, accessing the islands by boat is just so special!

Pauline, Papi and Madellena (on Joey) made such an effort to make this an enjoyable trip and I felt safe at all times. Islands were beautiful, especially the further you go, and it felt a really special way to spend a few days. Food was delicious (& generous portions!).

It is worth mentioning the waves during the open water crossing (February) should not be under estimated, especially if you are prone to travel sickness like I am. The first few hours were pretty tough however by the next morning (we left late the evening before) we were all okay. Only a small number of us were affected though.

Overall a fantastic trip with great people and an amazing way to experience the islands – thank you!

We had an amazing time aboard Joey!

The San Blas Islands were stunning and our capitan Paulina took us around a great mix of islands. Julian was an excellent first mate, kept everything running smoothly and was a friend to everyone. Gracias parce! Maddy cooked us up some amazing food! Great variety and no one was ever left hungry. Couldn’t have asked for a better crew for our journey.

The boat had everything we needed gave us a smooth sail on our journey.
